Magnetic-sensor Feedbackbuilt-in magnet to the actuator
When Actuator has built-in magnetic senor, you can adapt the stroke length of standard actuators by the moving the Magnetic switch so that the actuator can adjust its expansion length after leaving the factory .There is a great need for various stroke lengths, especially in areas where unique applications are the rule rather than the exception. Sensor integration provides a universal solution.
For example, an 100mm stroke SRA3000 Linear Actuator ,it's expansion length is from 275mm to 375mm. you can set the expansion length from x to y (x
First, you should get the following list ready:
1, A Linear Actuator with the magnetic senor;
2, One or two normally closed (NC) magnetic switches;(you will need two if you need to set the upper and the lower expansion length,otherwise only one.The second switches allows both the actuator's incoming and outgoing movements to be set.).
3,one forward and reverse controller with Upper and Lower limit
Second,wiring the linear actuator like following picture(with our 5A 24V controller eg.)
Last, fix the magnetic switches on the linear actuator at the position you want to set
Limit switches Feedback
Limit switches feedback are a bit different from the HALL-SENSOR or the Magnetic sensor.Limit switches feedback not meant for an electric linear actuator with position feedback, instead, they determine the start and stop points of the linear actuator.
To put it simply, limit switches are installed at both endpoints of the actuator's stroke and as soon as the actuator rod comes in contact with them, they break off the circuit. This is a necessary measure as the motor does not know when to stop, and if not turned off at endpoints, it can destroy the actuator, itself, or even cause damage to users. The feedback control, in this case, is slightly limited as it is only responsible for collecting position feedback at extreme positions.
It is suggested to install relays to realize the feedback of the in-place signals at the two highest and lowest positions
Some users' application needs the limit switch feedback signals to control their system. Instead of using the mechanical trigger to shut off the motor, the application prefers to have an analog signal as part of an integrated control system. Currently, Progressive Automation offer two different configurations when it comes to limit switch feedback.
It is suggested to install relays to realize the feedback of the in-place signals at the two highest and lowest positions
the extended and retracted mechanical limit switch share a common signal. This will still provide the same open and closed state, but with one less wire involved.
Limit switches Feedback can provide the signal needed to turn on or off the indicator light and notify the user that the unit has reached its final position. This is a common application for assembly line machinery, where the operator is usually away from the actuator, and they rely on the control panel indicators to alert them on the state of the operation. This can also be used as redundancy in a control loop to provide extra safety assurance to the user.
HALL-sensor FeedbackBuilt-in Hall chip to the actuator
The Hall sensor makes it possible to count the motor revolutions by using magnets fixed on the motor shaft. A microprocessor counts the revolutions.
By using the Hall controller to receive the Hall signal from the actuator, precise control of the actuator can be realized, such as height memory, height display, and synchronization of multiple actuators
What the Hall sensor do
The Hall sensor is a magnetic field sensor which is made according to the Hall effect,So we can monitor and control the actuator by the hall controller.
