【Generic Name】Fluvalinate Strip                             

【Main Ingredient】Tau-fluvalinate

【Description】The said product is a yellow to orange strip with an insignificant special foul smell.

【Pharmacological Actions】

The said product has contact and stomach toxicity and is not volatile. Fluvalinate can act on the nervous system of varroa mites,which passes through specific receptors or is dissolved in the membrane, alters the permeability of synaptic membrane to ions, selectively acts on sodium channel of the membrane, delays the closure of channel valve, causes NA+ continuing to flow inward, and results in excessive excitation, spasm, and paralysis to death finally. After hanging strips for half an hour, it comes into effect. During no-brood period,medicine applying time may be adjusted from 21 to 28 days to reach a thorough elimilation of varroa mites, which is a long-acting product. It's difficult to have varroa mite treatment during brood period and medicine applying time has to be extended.

【Drug Interaction】Do not use it with other pesticides or alkaline drugs because it may be invalid.

【Effect & Application】Miticide,which is used to kill and control varroa mites.

【Usage & Dosage】

1. Hanging Method: Hang the strip between two comb frames just over the beehive entrance or between two comb frames diagonally. 1/2~1 strip for 4 comb frames hive.; 1 strip for 5~8 comb frames hive; 1~2 strips for 9 or above comb frames hive. Replace the strip by a new one or add one more strip after 5~7 days.Applying medicine 3~4 times is a course of treatment.

2. Trial is required. Choose 3 or 5 bee colonies for trial before applying to the whole colonies. Make a specific medicine using plan after observing 24~48 hours of the trial. It’s better to conduct the trial in the morning of sunny day and adjust dose according to actual situation.Increase or reduce dose or medicine applying time on the condition that there are step hives,less comb frames or severe varroa mite disease.

【Adverse Reactions】

The said product has no obvious adverse reactions to healthy bee colonies; The said product may cause crawling bees for bee colonies with poor natural resistance (such as Megachile), or unhealthy bees, sensitive bee colonies,and  bees at different developmental stages with differences in drug-resistance.  After taking medicine, observe for several hours and take must-have measures.

【Precautions】

1. Please air-dry the strips in the shade for 24~48 hours if you find the strips are wet or sticky to each other. Strips can be come into use when there’s no stickiness to fingers, otherwise it may cause harm to bees. Please do not place it under the Sun, otherwise the efficacy will be greatly decreasing.  

2.Do not use this product when temperature is above 35℃ or below 15℃.The said product is not recommended to be applied to the situation such as migratory beekeeping,the beginning of hiving bee colonies,sugar deficiency for bees or other abnormal situation .

3.The strips should not be placed continuously in beehive for more than 6 weeks.

4.When one decides to hang strips,please wear protective gloves and mask. Wash hands after use.

5. Disused strips should not be reused and should be disposed in a centralized place.

6.The strips are prohibited from contact with edible honey and should not be stored together with pesticides or other chemicals.

7. Store the said product somewhere away from food and children's reach. and only unpack the packet near to use.

8.Do not use the said product during honey flow period.
