The proximity switch is a position switch that does not require mechanical direct contact with the moving parts. When the object approaches the switch sensing surface to the operating distance, the switch can be operated.
The proximity switch, also known as the non-contact proximity switch, is an ideal electronic switching sensor. When the metal detector approaches the sensing area of the switch, the switch can be contactless, without pressure, sparks, and electrical commands, accurately reflecting the position and travel of the moving mechanism.
Proximity Switch is widely used in machine tools, metallurgy, chemical, textile and printing industries. It also can be used as a limit, counting, positioning control and automatic protection link in the automatic control system.

Working principle of inductive proximity switch
Inductive proximity switch is composed of three parts-oscillator,switch circuit and magnified output circuit. The oscillator will generate an alternating electric field．When the metal object approaches this electric field and reaches the induction distance,whirlpool will generate in metal object,resuiting in attenuation of vibration and then stop．The change of vibration and stop of oscillator is treated by behind stage magnified circuit and converted to switching sign,triggering driving control for non-contact detection．
